New Volunteers – training venue and time changed

We apologise for any inconvenience, especially with such late notice, but the Scripture Union training for all new CE leaders will still be this coming Saturday (Nov 1st), but the venue has been moved and the time changed:

The venue is now Glenunga Uniting Church, (Corner of Bevington and L’Estrange St, Glengunga).
The time has changed to 3:20pm – 4:20pm.

Due to the late change, we understand if you are no longer able to make this training, and can offer an alternative online training if you would prefer to do that at your own convenience.

Please RSVP (Junior or Senior)for this Saturday’s training or let us know if you would prefer to do the online training instead.

Again, sorry if this causes any inconvenience.

In Christ,

Kevin Hull, Junior Camp Director

Cam Maxwell, Senior Camp Director

on behalf of the camp committees

Calling all Country Volunteers!

Know any country volunteers who might want to head to Junior or Senior camp? The CE Network and State Board will pay 50% of the fees for any country volunteer coming to 2014/15 Junior or Senior Camp and who lives more than 150km away from Mount Barker. Why we think it’s worth the investment:

  • camps gain valuable volunteers
  • volunteers are encouraged by working alongside others
  • country campers are keen to come when they know their leaders will be there

If this is you, sign up for Junior or Senior  camp, or  invite any country volunteers you know who would be keen to serve.

We’re giving $100 away a month

Inspired to put Jesus’ word into action?

The CE Network has tweaked ‘Your Project’ and we hope it helps you be doers in your faith.

Each month we’ll give $100 away to help you encourage and empower people to be renewed by God, to worship Him, to act in love toward others, to be in community and to go out on mission. Check out ideas here.

Campers and volunteers from 2014 camps can apply. Hear what Lorinda has to say about CE Network’s grants program.

If you’re interested in supporting the CE Network grants by contributing financially each month let us know. It will mean we are able to encourage, equip and empower more young South Australians to practically live out their faith. Exciting!

Pack your cape for Junior Camp!

Camper Form - Front (Small)Want to be a superhero on Jesus’ team? Find out how on Junior Camp in 2015. We’ll explore the superheroes of the bible – from the bravest to the most unlikely. There will be plenty of fun on camp with tons to do including sport, craft, drama and a great speaker called Steve Stokes. He’s really funny and tells great stories!

Camp goes from January 5-9 2015 at Cornerstone College in Mt. Barker. If you’re a kid aged between 9 and 13 then we’d love to see you there! (And if you have older brothers or sisters you might want to tell them about Senior Camp)

We are searching for leaders to be musicians, elective and sport coordinators, drama members and  small group leaders of aspiring superheroes and super-heroines (kids) for the week. If you are a children’s ministry leader or interested in children’s ministry, and 18 or over, then we invite you to prayerfully consider being a part of the 2015 CE-SU  Junior Camp Team.

Important dates for leaders

–        6 December for training, Rostrevor Baptist Church

–        4-9 January for camp, Cornerstone College, Mount Barker

Blessings,

Samuel Pryor

2014 AGM

Our 2014 AGM brought 35 people together from around the state, and from varied generations and denominations, all eager to hear what happened in 2013 for CE.

Find out about the year that was by reading the 2013-14 Annual Report.

We hope that CE continues to inspire SA’s young people to follow Jesus for another 126 years which is why we are eager to more people become members to help shape CE’s future in South Australia.

The Board is also seeking members to guide the organisation. Please contact the State Chair, Jessica Routley, for more information.
